Motivational speaker encourages Peet students to follow dreams

Timmy the Dreamer, a motivational speaker, came to Peet on Monday, Oct. 6. He spends his time making other people’s dreams come true and has helped several people who hadn’t completed their dreams. He founded Dreamer State University, a college that helps people’s dreams come true.

Timmy said he chose this path, “when I started to pursue my own dreams and realize how much it made me happy, how much excitement it brought to my life. How much I get to get up every day and do what I love. I want other people to experience that when I was in school nobody really talked to us about that, and so coming to schools and talking about dreams for me is if I can get a couple kids in this school to decide that they want to go after their dreams and also give back to others, then it’s like the world becomes a better place.”

Timmy said he is inspired by “how much goodness I see in the world every day if you choose to see the good. There’s good things happening every day.”

Timmy started this career five years ago. He said, “It started in 2020 during covid. It was when I first decided this is what I wanted to do with my life. That was when I created the Dreamology idea. When I knew I wanted to start giving back to others and when I ended up meeting Charlie and going on tour with him. People say luck is with preparation meets opportunity. I was kinda lucky but I was prepared for that moment when I met him. We were able to go across the country together and help people.”

Timmy continues to motivate people. He said, “The impact it has on other people’s lives, I can go to bed saying you know what I made the world a better place today and that’s a pretty cool thing.”

Timmy said he believes that it is easy to hide from the world. “To have the courage to be true to yourself. I think it’s really easy to put on a mask and to go through life hiding from the world, but the truth is that the world needs us. They need who we truly are. They need our light, and our gifts and our talents. It’s not just good for the world, but it’s good for ourselves because when we show up as ourselves we get to enjoy life more. We get to experience all the expressions of life from happiness to sadness to joy to pain, all of it. Like I always say, we wanna live a life full of color, not just black and white. Black and white is us just hiding from the world.”

Timmy said, “I think I always knew I wanted to help people, and I think that came from my mom. She was always like, ‘You can make a difference; you can make a difference,’  from when I was three years old, so I always wanted to help people, and then I think it evolved to this.”
