Each month introduces readers to a new selection of books to choose from. This month has led to three very different stories, sparking discussion among students with a range of interests. Each story offers a unique perspective on story telling.
The Silent Patient is a psychological thriller that just kept me reading,” junior Alex Martinez said. “Every chapter made me want to rethink what I thought I knew. It messes with your head in a good way.”
In contrast, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn offered a slower, more reflective experience. The novel focuses on growth, family and perseverance, which resonated with some students. “It felt very real,” sophomore Emma Collins said. “It wasn’t dramatic all the time, but that’s what made it meaningful and memorable.”
Readers looking for something a little lighter were led to Love and Larceny. It stood out for its humor and fast pace. “It was fun without being shallow,” sophomore Noah Reynolds said. “I liked that it didn’t take itself too seriously but still had a solid story.”
Overall, this selection gave students the chance to explore different genres and perspectives. With choices ranging from suspenseful to reflective, each student is able to find a book that appeals to their preferences.
