Men’s bowling team headed to State

The men’s bowling team will be heading to the state championship on Feb. 22. Head coach Brad Baker is no stranger to state championships. He has led the team to three consecutive years of state bowling.

Qualifying was a high for us. Shooting the school record was a high. We had a very fun and exciting season, and we’re obviously looking for a victorious finish,” Baker said.

Baker set the bar high for his goals at the state level. “If we bring home a trophy and banner, it will have been a good day. Top three receive those. I’d like to see all our members perform to the best of their abilities, and as a coach, that’s the best you can hope for.”

Baker said the competition at State to be tough, but he is confident in the performance of his athletes.

When it’s all over, he will have a number of seniors who have wrapped up their last contributions to the team. “It’s tough to lose guys you have been working with for four years, but you are excited to see what they will go on to accomplish. It’s also exciting to see how roles within the team will be filled by younger players and to see new people on the team.” The state meet is on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m.
