Marvel is one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world, and it’s home to some of the most iconic characters. Seeing as Marvel has just finished phase three of their epic saga, it begs the question what comes next after ending some of their biggest characters and storylines?
Well, let’s start by looking at Marvel’s plan for releases this year. The most recent release has been the Disney+ series “Moon Knight” and the next two releases are “Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Thor Love and Thunder.” Just from looking at these three releases, we know that Disney is already introducing new characters (Moon Knight) and returning some familiar faces (Dr. Strange & Thor).
These two releases are very important because they introduce some big things into the MCU such as Egyptian Gods and the multiverse. “Spider-Man No Way Home” and “What If?” already hit big on the multiverse, but Dr. Strange’s new film will explore the multiverse beyond what any of us have ever seen before. The multiverse is going to be the biggest plot point for the rest of phase four and possibly the rest of Marvel’s storyline beyond phase four.
Also during 2022, we can expect “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, the sequel to 2018’s “Black Panther” starring Chadwick Boseman who unfortunately passed away, which has begged the question for millions of people: who will replace Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther? Marvel has announced that they will not recast T’Challa or revive him via visual effects. Most fans have theorized that T’Challa’s sister, Shuri will replace him as Black Panther, but no matter what the actual answer is, I’m sure Marvel will come up with something incredible for Black Panther 2.
We can also expect multiple new Disney+ shows throughout the rest of the year including “Ms. Marvel,” “She-Hulk,” “Secret Invasion” and “What If…?” season 2.
2022 is going to be an awesome year for Marvel, and the fanbase is going to have a great time watching the new releases.
