This Valentine’s Day, why not send a special message to your friends or classmates with a rose? The high school is bringing back the sweet memories of candy grams from our childhood, but this time, we’re doing it for a great cause. Student Senate representative Lydia Rusley-Hanesford said, “Just recently the snowball was canceled due to low acceptance rates, so because of this student senate had to act fast to start up a backup plan we had beforehand—Petals for a Purpose.”
What’s the Deal? For just $3, you can buy a beautiful rose and send it to someone special at school with a personalized note. All proceeds will go to the UNI Dance Marathon. Rusley-Hanesford said, “Student Senate plans a lot of events to raise money similar to this, which I love the idea of spreading kindness and supporting a great cause. It’s such a simple way to show appreciation and make someone’s day special in return.”
Stop by the front of the cafeteria before and after school or during your lunch to purchase a rose. Write your message or let them know who you’re sending it to, and they’ll take care of the rest. Orders must be placed by Feb. 7 to ensure delivery on Valentine’s Day during Tiger Time and fourth hour. Whether it’s for a best friend, a crush, or a special treat to yourself who deserves some love, let’s make this Valentine’s Day unforgettable—one rose at a time. Don’t miss out—order your roses now and spread the love.
