Students share summer fashion predictions

As summer approaches, students are already looking ahead to the fashion trends expected to define the season. From relaxed streetwear to bold color choices, many say 2026 style is leaning toward comfort mixed with individuality.

One trend students mentioned is oversized, lightweight clothing paired with simple accessories. “I think people are going to stick with baggy shorts and oversized tees because it’s easy and still looks put together,” junior Jordan Ellis said.

Color is also expected to play a bigger role this summer, with bright tones and mixed patterns gaining popularity. “I’ve been seeing a lot of people move away from neutral outfits and go for louder colors,” sophomore Maya Collins said. “It feels more fun and expressive than last summer.”

Another sophomore, Ava Reynolds, said she’s noticed a rise in retro-inspired styles making a comeback. “A lot of stuff from the early 2000s is coming back,” she said. “It’s kind of funny, but also really easy to style with modern pieces.”

As summer nears, students continue to experiment with looks that balance comfort, creativity, and individuality.
