Hocus Pocus sequel planned for 2022

Holidays come with many different types of traditions, a common universal one being movie watching, with certain films watched again each year. An example of a very popular Halloween favorite is Hocus Pocus, which has a sequel approaching.

Hocus Pocus is a Halloween classic about a teenage boy accidentally unleashing a curse upon the town of Salem, Mass. The Sanderson Sisters is a coven of three witches (Sarah, Winifred and Mary Sanderson) doing everything in their power to become immortal. Max Dennison with the help of his sister Dani, a girl from his school named Allison and a talking cat Binx spend all of Halloween stopping the sisters from achieving their goal of immortality. 

The original actors who played the Sanderson Sisters, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, have agreed to sign on for the sequel, making fans even more excited for the upcoming project. 

The feeling of nostalgia is a major driving factor for these movie watching traditions; ever since the movie came out in 1993 it has been a beloved Halloween movie.

Hocus Pocus 2 is set to come out on Disney+ in 2022, and is directed by Anne Fletcher.
