Comic fans turn out in costume for Halloween Comic Fest

This year’s Halloween Comic Fest at The Core was a wonderful success. “What a wonderful day, what wonderful costumes, what wonderful people,” said Mike Blanchard, the owner of The Core.

On Saturday, Oct. 23, many comic and pop culture enthusiasts gathered at The Core comic store in Cedar Falls to participate in the Halloween Comic Fest, which is part Free Comic Book Day, part costume contest, part comic sale. There were plenty of complex and creative costumes, some worked on for years, and the community, as agreed by Blanchard, was wonderful. Please view the photo collage posted below for all the great costumes at the comic fest.
