Peet A team knocks off Prairie, 56-31

The Peet freshman boys basketball team notched a win against Cedar Rapids Prairie on Thursday, Dec. 9. Peet’s A team finished with a score of 56 to 31.

Coach Ethan Jennings said of the team that “the bond is very strong with these boys and I think they have each other’s back.”

Players Jalyn Wooten, Jordan Townsend, Keegan Steege, Carsten Meester and Fletcher Yates are all A team starters but are close friends as well and have a tight bond not just with each other but with the rest of the team.

“I’ve seen the team grow as time goes on, and they definitely bond with each other. A team always supports B team, and they always get super hyped up, and B team always supports A team too,” team manager Emily Bennett said.

B team lost to Prairie but were still as happy as ever and could be seen cheering and celebrating with their friends on A team after the game.

“It always feels good to win, but no win is ever perfect, so there is always something to work on,” Jennings said.
