CF grads share what electives contributed most to their career paths

In Cedar Falls high school there are many elective classes to benefit you after high school and the major that you’re going to get in. That’s why it’s important to know what you’re doing after high school. Adil Afzir, a college student who went to Cedar Falls High School, said “ While I was in high school I knew what I was going to do after high school. I decided to get into engineering, so most of my years in high school were just to take a lot of math classes and calculus; those classes are the most effective. The places the class benefits me in is there are classes that I don’t have to take in college because I took them in high school. That put me ahead of everyone because that meant that I could probably graduate early.”

College freshman Jeremiah Jones had a different experience.  “All the classes benefited me  because I want to be a teacher, and I’m studying right now in college to be a teacher. The class that really benefited me in my opinion and what I enjoyed is CAPS education. It really helped me because it made me work with students and really feel the experience of how it feels like being a teacher, but also not everyone is studying the same thing after high school, so it depends on what you want to be.”
