Fashion Sense: Azunie Jenkins

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?

A: From all over really, but the thing that inspires me the most is color. I really like having matching colors like white and beige or black and any color, but I also like contrasting colors like purple and yellow, beige and blue.

Q: What are some color combinations you recommend?

A: Beige (kinda like khaki or a little dark) with blue, white or deep greens (forest green), purple with yellow, black or other shades of purple, and almost any color can go with another color as long as it has the right shade, placement, and texture.

Q: What is a go-to/staple piece?

A: I really like overshirts like flannels, hoodies and jackets, especially varsity jackets and bomber jackets.

Q: Where do you shop and how do you afford your clothes?

A: I do a lot of online shopping on places like Etsy and Depop as well as streetwear brands like Demon’s Basement, Prix and Praying Rabbit. This is all quite expensive though.

Q: Who do you look up to for inspiration? Is it a celebrity or another student?

A: I get a lot of my inspiration from models and fashion content creators on TikTok like Davin Brunson (@DAV on Tiktok) and Miles (@Milesbaguette also on TikTok).

Q: Are your outfits seasonal or do they work year-round?

A: Very seasonal. I wear a lot of layers like jackets, hoodies or the classic (basic) hoodie and flannel during the fall and winter time, but during the summer it’s a lot of earth-colored pants with button-ups or shorts with graphic tee’s; in my opinion summer is the downfall of fashion for men and masculine dressing individuals.
