Peet seventh, eighth graders can now buy tickets for dance

This year, the annual Peet seventh and eighth grade dance is making a return with the theme Hawaiian. The seventh and eighth grade dance has been an annual tradition at the end of the year nearly every year other than around Covid time.

Megan Bowden is a school counselor at Peet and is in charge of student council. She said, “The seventh and eighth grade dance has been around for a long time. After Covid we didn’t have it for a couple years, so last year was the first year we held it in a long time. Student Council really advocated for having the dance last year, so now it’s back as a yearly tradition.”

The dance this year is on May 17 at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m and tickets are $5. Students can play games in the front gym and dance in the back gym along with a backdrop for fun pictures with friends. Water will be provided as well.

Tickets are available for seventh and eighth grade students to buy during lunch this Wednesday through Friday. Bowden said, “Other than buying a ticket, there isn’t much students need to do to prepare. They can find something beachy/Hawaiian to wear if they would like, or they can wear regular clothes.”

According to Bowden, the dance is a great way to end the year off for students. She said, “The dance is a fun way to celebrate a great year and the start of summer. Come to hang out with friends and have a fun time.”
