The men’s golf team is ranked No. 8 in class 4A and is on its way to the post season meets.

On Tuesday, Oct. 4 the first round of districts will be taking place at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, the team’s home course.

Head coach Richard Strike said he thinks the season is going well.

“We have had our ups and downs as most teams do, but we are starting to play our best golf now.”

The team ended in second place at the MVC divisional meet, only losing by 13 strokes to Cedar Rapids Xavier.

Senior Captain Jake Bermel earned a first team All-Valley Division spot, and Wil Hunemuller and Jared Deines earned a spot on second team.

Bermel said he thinks the team is ready for Districts on Oct. 4.

“We’ve been playing good lately, so hopefully that carries over,” he said.

Districts will be hosted by the Tigers at Pheasant Ridge, a course the team plays almost every day.

Strike agreed with Bermel, saying, “I believe they are ready.

We have some time to work on the few things, and it helps tremendously that it is at our course.”
