Cedar Falls High School’s drama department is putting on their spring musical, “All Shook Up” on March 8th and 9th at 7:30 pm. Set in the 1950s, the musical follows a six character love triangle based on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night”. All songs performed come from Elvis Presley’s music.

The Midwest serves as the backdrop, set in a tiny town where the mayor has outlawed tight pants, public kissing, and loud music. The strict rules contribute to the townpeople’s restlessness, leaving them shaken up when a guitar playing roustabout, Chad (senior Josh Carlo) rolls into town and impresses them with his hip-popping dances and rock n’ roll tunes. Chad’s charming personality draws the attention of Natalie (McKenzie Sesterhenn), who desperately wants to woo him, leading her to create a fake male identity to become closer with him. Drama ensues, creating a funny and lively show.

The cast has been preparing the show starting with auditions in November and daily dance and singing practices. Tickets are six dollars for students and eight dollars for adults.

Class of 2014
