Look down. Not at the floor, at your feet. What’s on them? The average person would most likely say, “shoes.” That’s all they are right? Just shoes? You put them on to keep your feet comfortable, clean and protected, but I urge you to look deeper, for every shoe … has a sole.
Our shoes are more than just protection for our feet. Shoes have evolved from a necessity into a statement of our personality. I’m here to bring you in-depth reviews of everyone’s favorite footwear. This week we will be reviewing a hot item, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Turtle Doves.
First off, comfortability is a factor for everyone purchasing a pair of shoes. The Yeezy Boost 350s feature a Primeknit upper, which is very lightweight and flexible. The shoe also features a patented Boost midsole for maximum comfort. I would rate the comfort of this shoe a 10 out of 10.
Style is also a very important factor in choosing a pair of shoes. As mentioned before, the shoe features a Primeknit upper that is primarily grey with black streaks. The Yeezy Boost 350s are often compared to a Roshe Run. While they are similar to the Roshe Run, there are many differences. I, personally, am a fan of the ribbed midsole. This, along with a black suede patch on the side of each shoe, makes the Yeezys unique from the Roshe Run. Though most find the Yeezys eye catching, they are an aquired taste. Personally, I give the 350s an 8.5 out of 10 when it comes to style.
Next we will examine the performance factor of the Yeezy Boost 350. Although the shoes are lightweight and comfortable, they lack proper ankle support and traction. While wearing a pair, I noticed that I could slide easily. The ankle support was nothing special either. Overall, I give them a 5 out of 10 for performance.
Lastly, we take a look at the cost of the shoes. The Boosts retailed for $200 and sold out immediately at every store and site. In my opinion, the $200 price tag was a little much for my likings. Unfortunately, that’s what happens when you slap Kanye West’s name on a shoe. Meanwhile, resale prices on the Yeezys have seen peaks of $1,000. As far as retail price goes, $200 was a steep but appropriate price considering the high quality of the materials used on the shoe. I give the price a 7 out of 10.
Overall, I give the Yeezy Boost 350s an 8 out of 10. The Yeezys can be summed up as a stylish, lightweight, comfortable shoe that I would not recommend for any type of physical activity, but if you want to catch some glances at school, rock a pair of Yeezys! Why rock them? Well, everything’s better with a little sole.
