Bomb your bath, not your bank account with these simple steps for fizzies

1. Gather all of your ingredients: 1 cup of baking soda, ½ cup of citric acid, ½ cup of cornstarch, ½ cup of epsom salts, ¾ tsp. of water, 2 tsp. of essential oil, 1 tsp. of oil (almond or coconut oil would be best), food coloring, a mold, mixing bowls, a spray bottle, a whisk and gloves.

2. First, lay down a towel. This D.I.Y. is messy. Next, mix your dry ingredients together (the baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch and epsom salts). Using a whisk is recommended so it mixes evenly without making a huge mess on your hands.

3. Mix your liquid ingredients together (water, essential oil and normal oil). If you’re using coconut oil, make sure you melt it. After getting everything mixed, put the liquid into a spray bottle.

4. Start spraying your dry ingredients with your wet one. This will take quite some time. It is necessary to do this in order to make sure the chemical reaction does not occur. After a couple of sprays, start squeezing it together. Using your hands is a great way to feel the consistency of your mixture. You will want to spray it until the combined ingredients can mold in your hand and can stick together.

5. Separate the mixture into different bowls depending on how many colors you want. For example, if you want three colors, split it into three bowls. Then start mixing the colors in until you get your desired shades.

6. Start packing the results into your molds. Push each in with your fingers, and keep adding until it is full.

7. Wait two days before dropping your fizzies into the water. After waiting, feel free to start your relaxing bath.
