8th Grade FCS Grasshopper Pie Recipe

Remember making these rich and tasty treats in eighth grade FCS? So yummy. If you never got to experience this amazing dessert or if you’ve been missing it ever since, try out this recipe to bring you back into the eighth grade.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chocolate Oreo cookie crumbs  (10 Oreos + 1 or 2 extra for topping)
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • 2 Tbsp. milk, ¾ cup marshmallow crème
  • ¼ tsp. peppermint extract
  • ¼ tsp. green food coloring
  • 1 envelope Dream Whip
  • ½ cup cold milk

Instructions:

Break up Oreos and put them in the blender. Blend until cookies are crumbs. Combine cookie crumbs and margarine.  Press crumb mixture into pan.

In a new bowl, gradually add 2 Tbsp. milk to marshmallow crème, and mix until well blended.  Add extract and food coloring, Dream Whip and ½ cup milk.  Mix on high until well mixed and light and fluffy, approximately 4 minutes.  Pour into crust.  Break up a couple of Oreos and put on pie as topping.  Freeze.

Spin-Off Girl Scouts Thin Mint Cookies Recipe

Everyone gets a little giddy when they see Girl Scouts cookies in their cupboard, but for those times during year when you can’t buy Girl Scout cookies, try out this recipe to fill the void.

Ingredients:

  • One box of Ritz crackers
  • 1 pound of chocolate
  • almond bark
  • ½ to 1 tsp. of mint extract

Instructions:

Put Almond Bark in glass bowl in microwave for one minute, stir, then place in the microwave again for another minute or until it’s melted. Add ½ to 1 teaspoon of mint extract to melted almond bark, depends on how minty you want it. Set up wax paper on countertops, dip and cover Ritz crackers in melted almond bark and place on wax paper until they cool. Usually takes 20-30 minutes to cool completely.

Spin-off McDonald’s Shamrock Shake Recipe

You can’t not love the classic McDonald’s Shamrock Shake. In fact, you probably wish you could have them all year long! If you are one of the millions of people in love with this shake, try out this recipe you can use any time of year.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 10 drops green food coloring
  • 1 tsp. peppermint extract
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • 1 maraschino cherry (optional)

Instructions:

Blend ice cream, milk, food coloring and peppermint extract until smooth (about 30 seconds). Pour in glass. Top with whipped cream and maraschino cherry. Enjoy!
