Bow fishing is a unique sport and is very commonly used when it comes to fishing for carp. You are legally able to bow fish almost anywhere as long as you aren’t shooting in the direction of a building

Every waterway has a different type of carp/sucker fish. The spot in the first two pictures only has one type of sucker fish, and that is the white sucker. They tend not get very big, but they can get to just over a foot, and they are long and skinny.
This spring has not been great for bowfishing. It started out way cold, and so the fish would not come up to the surface, and now all of the bodies of water are getting super low as if we are in a drought. This next picture is of a spot that is usually full of carp, but the water levels are so low they are moving to deeper parts of the lake.
In the last picture, there are many different types of fish. The main fish you see in there are common carp, buffalo and quillback. Common carp tend to be more yellow and brown and get really big, Buffalo don’t get super big, but they are light blue, and in certain lighting they can be blaze orange, and quillback have one big fin that looks like a spike coming off of their back. This fish is a Quillback.
